Day 10. 10 small moments

1. A morning cup outside on the front porch. It is one of my favorite ways to wave good bye to a long winter.

2. Their quiche is not at all how I remembered it. They often get it wrong lately, but we still buy it hoping it will be like their quiche of yesteryear. The small-business hat I sometimes wear thinks about what other's processes and staff turnover is like. 

3. I'm drinking my third cup at work and I feel over-caffeinated... but I like saying a longer hello to the baristas before I head to my desk. 

4. The three of us are heads down working on the menu. We debate about egg terminology, and it is at this moment that I realize how far we've come. I am so proud of her, and her accomplishments to tackle something new and learn.

5. I notice one of the Totoro figurines that I placed on top of a sign in our office a couple of years ago. I place another one in a random spot... because it's funny. And because if work is your second home, why not put your mark on it? 

6. I park a little far and try to find the cashier's office. I am 18 again walking a college campus --Except that I am very much NOT 18, and I feel like I could pass for someone visiting their kid and paying for their tuition.  

7. I can't help but continue to garden even though it won't be mine for long. I divide and move the hostas and lilies to other parts of the garden.

8. I think of the women of Fever Dreams and I miss them something fierce.  Hanging my garland of dried flowers makes me smile.... One of so many small and thoughtful gifts and moments.

9. I move the two lavender pots outside (finally!), and he moves the vases of red and yellow tulips to take their place. Teamwork.

10. I didn't order dessert because we're going out tomorrow for an early celebration dinner. Tomorrow's restaurant has even more decadent dessert. Small justifications to keep my world turning.
